Andrew Hodgins wins second round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league in Tralee

Tipperary’s Andrew Hodgins and Bobello came out on top in today’s (Sunday) second round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league at Kingdom County Show in Co Kerry. Six combinations from the 15 starters managed to jump clear in the opening round, with Hodgins and his own eight-year-old gelding by Lux Z, posting the winning clear in the jump-off with a time of 51.42. 
 
Cork’s Olivia Roycroft was close behind in second with the 13-year-old mare Westpalstown Lady (51.42), while another Cork rider, Anthony O’Regan, took third place with Jackie Moloney’s Holmoak Koln. The only other double clear round came from Cork’s Timmy Doyle with the Kay Doyle-owned JS Bucks with a time of 55.28 putting them into fourth. Sven Hadley and Sumas Taloubet finished fifth with one fence down against the clock (52.01), while he also lowered a single fence with Victoria Z (61.27) to take sixth.
The third round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix League will take place at Aglish Gymkhana in Co Waterford on Sunday May 21st.
