Nicole Pavitt continued her domination of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Championship with a polished performance at the Horse of the Year Show. Nicole who qualified 3 horses had two competing in the final but it was with her mount HC Cornet that she took the title.
Just two combinations jumped clear in the first round from a total of 22 starters to progress through to the jump-off. First to go was Nicole on her mother Sandra Pavitt’s HC Cornet. They produced a clear round in 48.51 seconds. The final competitor into the ring was Adam Botham with his own Jerome Du Luot. Adam although over 1 second quicker knocked the very last fence in a time of 47.19 seconds to take second place.
The 22 finalists stemmed from 37,264 competitors in round 1 of the qualifiers. These were whittled down to just 841 competitors in round 2 with 24 qualifying for the final at The Horse of the Year Show.
