Engage Dog Food at Shane’s Castle 2015

July 2, 2015

The Engage Dog Food Team had a busy two days at The Irish Game Fair at Shane’s Castle Co. Antrim. The event is now in its 57th year and is run by the Great Game Fairs of Ireland who also run Birr Game Fair.

Shanes Castle estate in Co. Antrim is owned by Lord and Lady O’Neill and in recent years has been used as a location for filming in the TV hit Game of Thrones.

2015 proved to be a record year for the event with numbers up on the gate and in all the gun dog competitions.

The event had been threatened with bad weather for the week running up to the fair but it didn’t arrive thankfully leaving the show basking in the sun for the majority of the two days.

Over the weekend Connolly’s RED MILLS sponsored a number of tests, including the novice and open spaniel tests, the international spaniel competiton which saw teams competing from Ireland, England, Wales and the eventual winners Northern Ireland, the champion handler challenge which see’s the top two international spaniels running against the top two international labs and finally the Master McGrath lurcher race.

If you missed us at Shane’s Castle don’t worry there will be plenty more opportunities to catch us throughout the summer. We will be attending Birr Game Fair which takes place on the 29 – 30 August and is the largest game and country fair in the Republic of Ireland.

We have even more pictures from Shane’s Castle in our Facebook album. Make sure to like our Engage Dog Food Facebook page to keep up to date with what’s happening with Engage Dog Food.
