Heike has been crowned national champion on an incredible 11 occasions and has competed in the Atlanta, Sydney and Athens Olympic Games, along with the World Equestrian Games in Rome and Jerez and at the European Championships in Verden and Hickstead.

Holstein, who last won the national championships in 2007, scored an incredible five wins in-a-row from 1990 to 1994, before recording a hat-trick of wins from 2003 to 2005.

The Kildare-based rider will face tough competition, as the list of recent national champions includes Judy Reynolds, Roland Tong and Kate Dwyer.

The Dressage Ireland National Championships run from Friday through to Sunday when the new national dressage champion will be crowned.

Connolly’s RED MILLS would like to wish our Dressage Ambassador Heike Holstein and all the competitors the very best of luck.
