Saturday, 13 February sees the 36th running of the RED MILLS Race Day at Gowran Park racecourse. Boasting winners such as Gold Cup hero War Of Attrition, the peoples champion Danoli, Champion Hurdle star Hardy Eustace and in more recent times Arkle supremo Un De Sceaux, RED MILLS Day is without question one of the best Cheltenham guides in Irish Racing. 2016 promises to be no different with stars including Annie Power and Vautour being quoted as potential runners on the day.
Following the success of last year’s “Love Racing” competition, Gowran Park and Connolly’s RED MILLS are delighted to announce that they will be giving away a European City Break on the day. The prize also includes €500 spending money, so one lucky couple will be leaving very happy on the day, thanks to RED MILLS and Gowran Park.
Eddie Scally General Manager of Gowran Park remarked, “RED MILLS Day is without question one of the best racing cards in the horse racing calendar for the South East, with both the RED MILLS Trial Hurdle and RED MILLS Chase always attracting the biggest names in racing. I expect 2016 to be no different, with top class fields turning up for both races and now we have the added incentive of a weekend break on offer.
Joe Connolly CEO of Connolly’s RED MILLS commented, “We have been sponsoring RED MILLS Day at Gowran Park for 36 years now and it has always proven to be a great opportunity to give back to the local community and to thank our customers for supporting us throughout the years”.
First race on RED MILLS Day goes to post at 1.30pm, with free buses leaving Kilkenny Castle Gates at 12 noon. The seven race card is complimented by, live music, children’s entertainment and Six Nations Rugby. For more information visit www.gowranpark.ie or call 056 7726225.
