Waterford’s Paddy O’Donnell came out on top in the 14th round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix League, which was held at Tallow Gymkhana in Waterford on Thursday, 18 July.
Former National champion O’Donnell, piloted the 14 year-old gelding Minority Report to the fastest double clear round of 35.22 seconds to snatch the winners prize. The battle for overall league honours took another twist, as Paul Beecher, who was jumping on home ground in Tallow, slotted into runner-up spot with Danqu. Beecher and Danqu have now closed to within five points of league leader Francis Connors and Captol Cruis.
The 16 horse jump-off produced a host of double clear rounds, including Tipperary’s Seamus Hayes took third place wit Lux Like Quality. Tralee’s Maura Counihan finished fourth with Coral Du Carel, and also took sixth with Killerisk Minnie, while Colligan’s Peter Moloney finished fifth with Coral Du Carel.
The Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix League now moves to the Limerick/Clare show this Sunday for the 15th round of action.
