Irish show jumping manager Robert Splaine has today (Thursday) announced the squad that will represent Ireland at the Nations’ Cup Final in Barcelona, Spain, taking place between the 24 and 27 September 2015, with no less than three Connolly’s RED MILLS Ambassadors named in the squad.
RED MILLS trio, Bertram Allen (Molly Malone V), Shane Breen (Golden Hawk) and Denis Lynch (All Star) have all been selected, along with Greg Broderick (MHS Going Global) and Cian O’Connor with Good Luck.
Ireland is one of 18 teams to qualify for the final from the 45 nations that took part in the 2015 series. The Furusiyya FEI Nations’ Cup series is the oldest and most prestigious team jumping competition in the world. Teams competing in the final come from Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, Asia/Australasia and Africa. They will be joined by Spain, who automatically is awarded a place as the host nation.
The final consists of three competitions. The top eight teams from the opening class will go forward to the third and final competition. The remaining teams will compete in the Challenge Cup, which is the second competition.
