Waterford’s Francis Connors and Tipperary’s Liam O’Meara dominated the 10th round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league at Newcastle West in Co Limerick today (Sunday), between them filling all of the top five places.
Connors closed the gap on league leader Timmy Doyle by scoring a win with Capitol Cruis, crossing the line clear in 41.95 seconds in the 10 horse jump-off. Liam O’Meara was just three tenths of a second behind in second with Curragraigue Jack Take Flight, while the Nenagh rider also took third place with Kennysflight. Francis Connors finished fourth with Newmarket Clare Lady, while Liam O’Meara took another slice of the prize fund when finishing fifth with Russel Style. The top six was completed by Maura Counihan who produced the fastest four fault round of the jump-off with Killerisk Minnie.
The 11th round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league will take place at Dungarvan Show on Thursday July 27th.
