Austin O’Connor

Coming from County Cork, Austin was immersed in the equine industry from a young age. Austin represented Ireland in numerous international competitions on the Junior and Young Rider teams which included a Gold medal win in the Young Rider World Championships in 1995. He went on to represent Ireland at senior level seven times including two Olympic Games.

Austin is now based at Attington Sport Horses in Oxfordshire, a state of the art equestrian facility that includes gallops and an all-weather surfaced cross country schooling complex. From here Austin produces, competes and also offers training and clinics.

Stable Star - Colorado Blue

My star horse (at the moment!) is COLORADO BLUE. He is a 9yo gelding by Jaguar Mail. Bred by Kate Jarvey (who owns Attington Stud where I am based in Oxfordshire). He is now owned by four ladies – The Salty Syndicate. He’s come up through the grades, being well placed as a 5 and 6yo at the Osberton Championships and has just completed his 1st advanced at Burnham Market. He’s a super jumper and seriously scopey with  lots of gears XC! He has taken a while to develop strength for the dressage but has lovely natural movement. His aims for the spring will be Withington and Chatsworth advanced and Bramham CIC3* and then aiming for Blenheim CCI3* in the Autumn.
